1 Spool Directional Control Valve for a Defined Machine Function

A 1 spool directional control valve directs one hydraulic function, but the correct P40 configuration depends on the machine motion, neutral condition, flow path, pressure, ports and actuator behavior. HydrathPower reviews those inputs against the circuit and installation before confirming a valve configuration.

The valve-family name does not establish interchangeability. Provide the hydraulic schematic and existing valve drawing; listed ratings and interfaces must be matched to the exact selected model and approved revision.

  • Function: commanded motion and neutral-state behavior.
  • Hydraulic: normal and peak flow, working pressure and return path.
  • Interface: P, T, A and B ports, mounting pattern and lever clearance.
Selection inputWhat to confirm before an OEM valve review
Machine functionDescribe the actuator, commanded motion and required hold or return behavior.
Neutral conditionProvide the schematic showing the intended pump, tank and actuator paths when the spool is centered.
Flow and pressureState normal and peak flow in L/min and working and relief pressure in MPa or bar, with duty conditions.
Port interfaceConfirm P, T, A and B thread specifications, hose routing and allowable return restriction from the drawing.
ActuationDescribe lever direction, detent or spring return needs, available clearance and operator interface.
InstallationSupply envelope, mounting pattern, orientation and existing valve dimensions where replacement is intended.
Fluid and environmentIdentify fluid, operating temperature range and sealing or contamination requirements for review.
Approval evidenceMatch any published rating, test record and drawing revision to the exact selected model before release.

Selection inputs, not confirmed specifications of a particular delivered valve. Final configuration requires a model-specific drawing and engineering confirmation.

Use the circuit task to choose the spool

“One spool” describes the number of controlled functions, not the exact valve behavior. Record what the actuator must do in each lever position and when the operator releases it. A lift, clamp or tilt function can require different center paths and load-holding arrangements even when each uses one spool.

Questions for an OEM review

  • Motion: Which actuator is controlled, and which direction should each lever movement produce?
  • Neutral: Should flow unload to tank, remain blocked, or follow another defined path? Show this in the schematic.
  • Load behavior: Is the load expected to hold, lower under control, float or return by spring or gravity? State the required behavior rather than assuming the valve provides it.
  • Supply: What are the normal and peak pump flow, operating pressure and relief setting at the duty cycle?
  • Interface: What are the port threads, mounting dimensions, lever envelope and return-line constraints?

These examples describe possible machine functions, not verified HydrathPower installations or confirmation that one valve fits every application. The selected valve and any additional load-control devices must be checked against the complete hydraulic circuit.

Send the Valve Circuit for OEM Review

Send the hydraulic schematic, actuator duty, flow and pressure conditions, existing valve drawing and mounting limits. HydrathPower can review the requested function and identify which model-specific drawing and ratings still need confirmation before an OEM decision.
